1) Picking the Wrong Niche / Business Model
This is where most people get it wrong before they even start.
Pick the right niche, and the business almost builds itself. Clients say yes fast, you get results, you scale.
Pick the wrong one, and you’ll spend months pitching broke businesses, wasting time or getting buried in compliance hell.
I’ve done both.
At first, I chased small local businesses — plumbers, gyms, cafes. Most barely had cash flow, let alone budget for AI automations.
So then I went after “high-value” verticals like healthcare. Biggest mistake of my life. I spent 3 months trying to connect an AI receptionist to a medical clinic's locked-down CRM. Got deep into privacy protocols, tech limitations and endless legal BS. Deal collapsed. Thousands of wasted hours. Pisses me off thinking about it again. That's why you need to choose the right niche.
The reality is most industries aren’t ready for AI. We're here to make money — not waste time forcing it in a niche where it just doesn't work.

2) Not Having A Clear, Compelling Offer
Saying you “do AI” isn’t an offer.

Early on, I pitched vague things like, “I can build automations,” “I can integrate AI”.
No one knew what they were buying. So they didn’t.
Unclear value = ignored.
If your offer isn’t specific, outcome-driven and framed as delivering real business value — leads, revenue, costs — you won’t close clients.
You’ll start thinking “no one wants AI,” when the truth is millions of businesses do — you just have an offer problem, a lead quality problem, a sales problem, or most likely, all three.
Nobody cares about some random AI automation that sorts email inboxes — and the ones that do, aren't dropping thousands for it.
They want growth. More customers. Better margins.

3) Not Prioritizing Lead Generation
